There are many reasons why sales don’t close. One reasons is when the sales person doesn’t have a detailed description of their ideal prospect opportunity.
Can you imagine someone going hunting for deer and no being specific as to what a deer looks like?
The second common reason sales don’t close is when the sales person believes everyone is a prospect.
Again if
someone was hunting deer,didn’t know exactly what deer looked like and then believed every animal was deer. What a mess this type of thinking would create.
If a sales person doesn’t have a clear description
of a prospect and believes everyone is a prospect, is it any wonder why sales don’t close.
The first signs of a problem is when
- You have opportunities in the sales pipeline longer than the norm
- Your prospect are not
taking your calls
- If you have submitted your proposal and nothing is happening
- If you are leaving messages that are not returned
