So, how do we get there, it isn’t that difficult.
Several years ago, I experienced low blood sugar.
I felt sick and my energy level was low. It was an effort for me to get out of a chair.
Despite my physical condition I made up my mind that I was going to beat this.
I had made it a goal to walk outside to the sidewalk.
It took about a half hour and with all the energy I could muster to get to the sidewalk and achieve my first goal. From there I wanted to walk to a tree.
Each day I would walk to the tree I had ended with the day before. My new goal was the next tree. When I achieved that goal, I went a little bit further.
Sometimes I would pick a mailbox sometimes it was a crack in the sidewalk. I wanted to stretch my goal a little bit further and push myself.
My goal of walking to the sidewalk was a goal. While to others my goal was no big thing. To me, I had achieved success.
When I hit my goal, I would say one more tree. In time I was able to run a 5K and then a 10K.
After hitting my 10K goal I started to work on my time.
By the time I ran my 10K, I was feeling fantastic. It all started the day I decided to get out of that chair. It was difficult painful goal and at times exhausting.
So why am I sharing this with you? No, I am not boosting, bragging. I am giving you encouragement.
We are in difficult times. We can wait for things to change or we can make changes.
